E. O’MALLEY SMITH practices in the areas of Probate, Estate Planning, Trusts & Estates, Business & Corporate Law, and Commercial & Residential Real Estate.

Mr. Smith received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1970 and his J.D. from Rutgers Law School in 1973. He was admitted to the Connecticut bar in 1974 and to the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1980. Mr. Smith has practiced law in the greater Danbury area for over fifty years.

Mr. Smith previously served as president of the Danbury War Memorial and the Kiwanis Club of Greater Danbury. He has served on the board of a local bank, the Bethel Democratic Town Committee, and various other Town of Bethel boards. He also is the former attorney for the Town of Bethel Charter Revision Commission.

Mr. Smith is a Veteran, having served in the U.S. military for over twenty years. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the U.S. Army Reserve and served in Bosnia and Croatia as a civil affairs and international law specialist in 1995 and 1996, when he was called to active duty by President Bill Clinton.

Mr. Smith served for many years as president of Collins Hannafin, P.C. He has three adult daughters and presently resides in Bethel, Connecticut with his wife.
