Paula Boa Sousa

PAULA BOA SOUSA practices in the areas of Estate Planning, Wills, Trusts, Probate, and Elder Law, including Medicaid applications.

Attorney Sousa is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Fairfield University.  She earned her Juris Doctor, with a Tax Law Certificate, from The University of Connecticut School of Law, and is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut.  Prior work experience includes internships at the Danbury Probate Court and in the chambers of Magistrate Judge Joan Glazer Margolis at the New Haven Federal District Courthouse.

In November 2010, Attorney Sousa was named to the Legislative Committee of the Elder Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. This role positions Attorney Sousa to advocate for Connecticut’s seniors and play a vital part in passing legislation that will improve State programs for the elderly, protect them from abuse, and improve their overall quality of life.  In addition to her work on the legislative committee, Attorney Sousa currently serves as Treasurer of the Elder Law Section.

Attorney Sousa is a member of the Estates and Probate and Elder Law sections of the Connecticut Bar Association, the Western Connecticut Estate and Tax Planning Council, and the Portuguese Cultural Center in Danbury.  Attorney Sousa also serves on the Board of Directors of Ann’s Place, a cancer support services organization located in Danbury.

Attorney Sousa is fluent in Portuguese and conversant in Spanish.  She is a life-long resident of Danbury and resides there with her husband and family.
