GERALDINE BLAS MACAISA is an Associate in the Transactional Department and practices in the areas of Estate Planning, Trust & Estate Administration, Probate, Commercial & Residential Real Estate, and Business & Corporate Law.
Attorney Macaisa is originally from South Florida and earned her undergraduate degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She earned her J.D. and Certificate in Tax Studies from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she was the recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for academic excellence (“CALI award”) for the Elder Law course. She also received the CALI award for Street Law in the High Schools, a community-oriented course and legal education program wherein she taught practical and relevant law to public high school students in downtown Hartford. During law school, Attorney Macaisa was a Notes and Comments Editor for Volume 51 of the Connecticut Law Review and was selected to become a member of the Connecticut Moot Court Board. In addition, she participated in the Tax Clinic, representing low-income taxpayers in a variety of matters involving the Internal Revenue Service.
Prior to joining Collins Hannafin, P.C., Attorney Macaisa served for more than three years as a legal research law clerk to the honorable judges of the Connecticut Superior Court. She also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Victor A. Bolden of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and worked as a legal intern for one of the largest publicly held personal lines insurance companies in the United States. Attorney Macaisa has co-presented classes on legal storytelling at the Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s 2018 Northeast Regional Conference and the Hispanic National Bar Association’s 2018 National Convention, and before the Connecticut Bar Association’s Litigation Section.
Attorney Macaisa resides in Danbury, Connecticut with her husband and two cats. Outside of work, she enjoys thrifting, reading, and volunteering at cat shelters. She also volunteers her time to Saint Joseph Parenting Center in Danbury and is active in the local Filipino American community.
